Project 4: Process Crit (concept 2)
Artist Statement: I was just introduced to the photographer Gregory Crewdson this week in another class and I feel such a strong pull from his work. His images all tell a story of quiet desperation and though they feature different people and places, they seem all connected to me, almost as if they all collectively told a narrative. Maybe the narrative is about Gregory Crewdson's own desperation and loneliness. We don't know, but I like that it is left for our own interpretation.
Project 4: Process Crit (concept 1)
Artist Statement: I took these photographs at an antique store in downtown Raleigh. The owners will always claim that the building is haunted and that artists who come into the studio rooms upstairs to work, have experienced encounters with these ghosts. For me, these images help tell the story of a haunted building through haunting and mysterious objects like the empty chairs, or the creepy dolls.
